We are what we are

It's funny how a bad day reveals how we truly feel or think about something because we can sugar coat our thoughts on a good day.....which makes me wonder if we should all have more bad days so we could be honest with each other, irritancy trespass the borders of tolerance, a fancy word for faking to make everyone smile. I played that role flawlessly for years, being reluctant of what people think of you make you dangerously good at conforming to the perfect puzzle piece, transforming to everyone's need, being what they want as long as you benefit from it one way or another..........some people would say that's a very selfish thing to tell, very immoral hehe......I can't help but think of the moral umbrellas we carry around, the courtesy we extend one another when deep down we are what we truly are, and all our decisions, at the molecular level, are self-serving, whether we acknowledge it or not, our actions are a reflection of our subconscious desires and where we are in life is nothing less than the result of our choices. People say otherwise cause only adversity can introduce a man to himself. When pain pays a visit, people suddenly change, not to something new, but into something old and real. It clears you up well that you would see how courtesies are humans unfortunate attempts of making our ugly truth taste a little less bitter, a way of shunting the responsibility of owning up to our weakness, an excuse to delay facing our darkest thoughts. All in the name of tolerance, we agreed to not push each other out of our bubbles. lately I have been impatient with courtesy, they seem to be reflecting shade on genuine truth, shadowing people from reality. And I keep thinking shouldn't the truth be the stable ground to stand on? The ultimate ground?
